Yuzu went live in 2024 with a single focus: empowering customers to turn their keycap concepts into physical products they can own and type on.

It has been a great success so far and more and more people are creating their own sets every day! ❤️ Most importantly, creating a keycaps set on Yuzu is fun and engaging. And holding keycaps that you created online is the best feeling.

What are creations for?

Truth is… not everone is creative, and decision paralysis is real. Picking fonts, colors and icons may be a walk in the park for a trained eye, but it’s surely not for everyone.

We have seen amazing designs emerge from within the community, and have come up with a new app, to allow people to share their creations to others, regardless of the keyboard they type in.

If you haven’t created a set with Yuzu just yet, you may want to try it before reading further!

🧑‍🎨 What’s expected from creators?

Be your unique and creative self. Don’t recreate a famous colorway or get “inspired” by a specific set, it makes you (and Yuzu) look bad, and is very disrespectful to the designer’s work. Copycats won’t be tolerated.
Be thorough. The Creator app is a bit more work than creating your custom keycaps in the playground, because it should cover all keyboard layouts properly. Make sure you double check everything, people are going to purchase your creation for their own keyboard!
Have fun! There is no limit but your imagination, the keyboard is your canvas. There is plenty of room for anything weird, unique and memes. Forget about pleasing everyone and leverage this unique opportunity to find people who have the same tastes as you!

Designer vs community creations

There are 2 types of creations available on Yuzu.

Designer creations are usually made by design professionals or highly skilled hobbyists
Community creations are a way for anyone to share what the beautiful keycap sets hey have made on the Playground app

There are a few key differences, but they share a lot of similarities.
